Basketball — Middle School Girls Basketball

Winter 2026

Basketball is a winter sport. Our season will run from July (practices begin) to October (TSIAA Championships) - Practices will be 3 times a week. Day and time will be finalized after the team roster is set. - Practice attendance is required, and missed practices will negatively affect playing time. - Practices are closed to the public. Players and coaching staff only are permitted in the gym during practice times. - We are a member of and participate in the TSIAA Conference. Competition will be predominantly (but not solely) with private Christian schools and comparable homeschool organizations within the MIDTN area. **PARENT VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENT:** Legacy HRC Athletics is built on something rare: coaches who show up purely out of love for your kids and this homeschool community. Every coach in our program volunteers their time; they are not paid. What you see on the court or field is only part of the story. Behind every practice and game are hours of planning, preparation, and prayer that happen long before the first whistle blows. These coaches give generously so your athletes can thrive, and we are deeply grateful for them. Because our coaches give so freely, we ask the same spirit from our families. Parent involvement is what makes this program sustainable and keeps costs low for everyone. Without it, we simply could not offer athletics at the price we do. In rare and limited circumstances, families may request to pay a $150 volunteer buyout fee if they are unable to fulfill their required volunteer hours. This fee allows Legacy to compensate another parent or approved volunteer to cover the hours that would otherwise go unmet. Approval is not automatic and will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Volunteer hours must be signed up for at parent orientation before the season begins

Legacy Lions Tryout Participation Waiver and Player InfoRequired▾

By submitting this registration, I give permission for the athlete(s) identified in this registration to participate in Legacy Lions athletic tryouts conducted through Legacy HRC at the applicable tryout location and on the date communicated for the selected sport.

I understand and acknowledge that participation in athletic tryouts and related activities involves inherent risks, including, but not limited to, physical injury, illness, property damage, accidents, and other known or unforeseen incidents. I voluntarily assume all known and unknown risks associated with the athlete’s participation and accept full responsibility for the athlete’s participation in the tryout and any related activities.

In consideration of the athlete(s) being permitted to participate, I agree to waive, release, discharge, and hold harmless Legacy HRC, Legacy Lions Athletics, FHIBC, the applicable host facility or property owner, and each organization’s respective affiliates, directors, officers, employees, coaches, volunteers, representatives, and agents from any and all claims, liabilities, demands, actions, damages, losses, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, illness, loss, or property damage that may be sustained as a result of the athlete’s participation in the tryout or related activities.

I confirm that the athlete(s) is physically fit and capable of participating in the tryout and has not been advised otherwise by a qualified medical professional. I understand that it is my responsibility to disclose any medical condition, injury, allergy, physical limitation, or other circumstance that could affect the athlete’s ability to participate safely.

I certify that I am the athlete’s parent or legal guardian and have the legal authority to provide this permission and consent. I further certify that all participant information provided through this registration, including the athlete’s contact information, grade for the 2026–2027 school year, current homeschool umbrella program or school, and 2026–2027 co-op or tutorial schedule, is complete and accurate.
